La fête de la Saint-Jean
After dinner with my family I decided to explore Arles a little and see if I could get au centre ville without using a map. Alas, I got lost amongst the maze of tiny streets after only a few minutes and found myself in a square where La fête de la Saint-Jean was happening. There were about 100 Arlesians dressed up in traditional Arlesain costumes and hairstyles. The women were occupied setting up a sort of market stand, the children were riding the carrousel and the men were attending to several donkeys and making a huge bonfire. You never know what you'll find when you aren't looking!
